The equal opportunity work of the Helmut Schmidt University / University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg is aimed at all civilian employees according to the Federal Equal Opportunities Act (BGleiG) and for all military matters according to the Soldiers’ Equality Act (SGleiG). The Civil and Military Equal Opportunities Officers are responsible for their respective area but work constructively together. In the context of their task fulfillment, the Equal Opportunity Commissioners are free of instructions. Both the Civil and Military Equal Opportunities Commissioners should be involved in all human, organizational and social activities of the service. They participate in committee meetings, appointment procedures, attitudes and service meetings.
