The textbook series Methodenintegrative Sozialforschung (Integrative Social Research Methods) appears at Springer VS and is edited by Andrea Hense, Felix Knappertsbusch, and Susanne Vogl. It’s volumes provide a practice-oriented introduction to mixed methods and multimethod research and its application in various substantive fields. The textbooks explain the methodological groundwork of integrative research designs with a strong focus on their practical application and real-world examples from empirical research.

The book series covers three main topics: (1) General methodological and epistemological core aspects of mixed methods and multimethod research, such as sampling and case selection, integrated data analysis, or philosophical foundations. (2) The application of specifc methods and design options, such as the combination of survey methodology and qualitative interviewing or the use of joint displays for presenting results. (3) The practices and challenges of applying mixed methods and multimethod designs in particular research areas, such as education or evaluation.
