INTALL project started!

On September 1st the ERASMUS+ Strategig Partnership INTALL (International comparative studies in Adult and Lifelong Learning) started with HSU / Professorship for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning / Prof. Dr. Sabine Schmidt-Lauff as a partner. The initial transnational kick-off meeting took place in Ljubljana (Slo) on November 20th and 21st.  INTALL continues the succesful innovations of the finished COMPALL project and brings together 10 old and new partners: Next to HSU and the project coordinators at Würzburg University, there are the universities of Padova and Florence (ITA), Lisbon (POR), Pécs (HUN), Dublin (IRE), Ljubljana (Slo) and the international institutions Deutscher Volkshochschulverband DVV international (GER) and the European Assiciation for the Education of Adults EAEA placed in Brussels.

During the next 36 months innovations in comparative adult education research will enhance the joint module developed in COMPALL for MA and PhD students and also bring practictioners into the programme. The international Würzburg Winter School „Comparative Studies in Adult and Lifelong Learning“ will again take place from Feb 4th until Feb 15th 2019 for Master and PhD students. The Winter School was developed in the COMPALL project in cooperation with Prof. Sabine Schmidt-Lauff / HSU.

COMPALL visit to UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning UIL

The Transnational Meeting of ERASMUS+ project ‘Comparative Studies in Adult Education and Lifelong Learning’ that took place at the Professorship for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (Prof. Sabine Schmidt-Lauff) ended successfully with a visit to the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning in Hamburg on June 20th. 13 participants from four European partner countries (Italy, Portugal, Hungary and Germany) were welcomed by the new director Prof. David Atchoarena to dicuss planned projects and possible future cooperations.

 

COMPALL Transnational Meeting

From June 19th to June 20th the final project meeting of the international ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnership Comparative Studies in Adult and Lifelong Learning will take place at Professorship for continuing and lifelong learning / HSU. Project Partners from the universities of Würzburg, Lisbon (POR), Padova (ITA), Florence (ITA) and Pécs (HUN) will meet. HSU will be presented with a campus tour and a joint dinner at the officers’ Casino. Furthermore, a field visit to the UNESCO Insitute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) Hamburg will deepen the contacts of the partnership.

Guest Lecture Dr. Michail Koryshev (SPbU St. Petersburg)

Following an invitation by the Professorship for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning, Dr. Michail Koryshev will hold a guest lecture on “Germanistische Studiengänge im Wandel der Zeit – ein Blick auf die russische Geschichte der Auslandsgermanistik vom 19. Jahrhundert bis heute.” on Tuesday, 8th of May. Starting on 2pm in room H1 105, the lecture will be in German language.

On Friday, 23. Feb. 2018, Prof. Simeon-Fayomi of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife / Nigeria will speak about “Journey of Women. Informal Learning in the Nigerian Indigenous Society.” The Guest lecture is initiated by the Professorship for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning / Prof. Sabine Schmidt-Lauff and will take place in building H1, Room 205.

Book publication following the  Compall WinterSchool 2016

Based on the Compall WinterSchool in February 2016 an anthology titled “Adult Learning and Education in international Contexts: Future Challenges for its Professionalization” was published via Peter Lang, edited by Prof. Regina Egetenmeyer (JMU Wuerzburg), Prof. Sabine Schmidt-Lauff (HSU Hamburg) and Prof. Vanna Boffo (University Florence).
