Sexual orientation and leadership

In this project Vanessa S. Bernauer collaborates with international researchers: Jasmin Joecks (Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen), Tanja Reimer (Europa-Universität Flensburg), and Georg Tamm (University of Melbourne). The aim is to dig deeper into the intersections of gender, sexual orientation, and inequalities in the workplace (such as heterosexism and homophobia) with a focus on invisible stigmatized groups such as LGBTQI* (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex) women and men entering leadership/executive positions. They seek to build an understanding of LGBTQI* people’s perspective on leadership ascension and their careers.

Prout at work supported the international team in finding interviewees for the study.
