DIN EN 62264-2

The DIN EN 62264-2 (Objects and attributes for enterprise-control system integration) or IEC 62264-2 is part of IEC 62264 and defines formal object models for the exchange of information Manufacturing Execution Systems with enterprise systems during the entire life cycle of these systems. Specifically, the IEC 62264-2 provides a standard terminology and a consistent set of concepts and models for integrating control systems with enterprise systems that will improve communications between all parties involved. The goal of this standard is to reduce the risk, cost, and errors associated with implementing interfaces between systems. [DIN EN 62264-2 – 2014]

Among many different information models, the DIN EN 62264-2 defines a model for the description of processes (Process Segment Model), which is shown in Figure 1. Figure 1 shows the OWL implemented information model as an UML class diagram. Further information can be found in the .owl implementation of this model, or in detail in the standard [DIN EN 62264-2 – 2014].
