Freya Brockstedt is working as a research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Department of Public Policy and Public Administration and the Department of Public Administration and Management at Helmut Schmidt University/University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg.

She completed her bachelor’s degree in Governance and Public Policy at the University of Passau and her master’s degree in political science at the University of Bamberg. She gained practical experience at the political level in the state parliament of Lower Saxony and the European Parliament as well as through her delegation participation in sessions of the United Nations in Vienna and New York, in the public sector at Norddeutscher Rundfunk (Northern German Broadcasting Corporation) and in the academic field as a student assistant at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories.

Thesis topic: „Digital Transformation of Public Administration: Social, Institutional, and Normative Dimensions“

Research Interests:
Governance, public administration reforms and transformation, digitalization of public administration, social policy, public policy, quantitative and qualitative research methods
