Lebenslauf
Dr. Deniz Kocak ist Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter an der Helmut-Schmidt-Universität / Universität der Bundeswehr (HSU/UniBwH), Forschungskoordinator des interdisziplinären Forschungsschwerpunkts Maritime Sicherheit (iFMS) sowie Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am German Institute for Defence and Strategic Studies (GIDS) in Hamburg.
Zuvor arbeitete er u.a. am Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung (BfR), als Lehrbeauftragter an der Freien Universität Berlin, als Gastwissenschaftler an der Singapore Management University (SMU) sowie am DFG-Sonderforschungsbereich 700 „Governance in Räumen begrenzter Staatlichkeit“.
Er ist Mitglied des UNDP-RSCA Governance and Peacebuilding Experts Roster, des UN SSR Advisory Network sowie des Steering Committees der ECPR Standing Group Political Violence.
Er studierte an der Universität Potsdam und der Humboldt-Universität Berlin Politikwissenschaft und Neuere/Neueste Geschichte und promovierte an der Freien Universität Berlin in Politikwissenschaft.
