“Technology Foresight” is an increasingly complex but necessary research field in technology-based companies. Here, a particular challenge is the establishment of efficient systems that allow monitoring and scanning at reasonable investment. With reference to various theories of strategic management, an appropriate approach in cooperation with a medical technology company has been developed. This approach has subsequently been extended to the application of cooperation networks and is currently being broadened by the opportunities of open innovation.
