Description

Economics deals with the study of microeconomic and macroeconomic (individual and macroeconomic) contexts and the possibilities of influencing economic activity through legislation, central bank and state activity. This involves an intensive embedding of the economy, politics and society.

Microeconomics: At the individual level, people’s behavior and the role of motives and incentives are analyzed. This includes dependencies on cooperation and conflict as well as group dynamics. The basic findings are applied, for example, in consumer theory, the labor market or social policy and in the design of institutions (administrations, legal regulations, European deposit insurance, etc.).

Macroeconomics: The macroeconomic correlations are considered, for example the economic, growth, fiscal and monetary policy as well as foreign activities (export / import). It examines developments, undesirable developments and possible solutions to economic problems. Action alternatives of the actors (companies, individuals, state, central bank, foreign countries) are analyzed and evaluated in order to achieve economic goals.

The aim of the study is to cover the central contents of economics in theory and politics. The European and, more generally, the international dimension is given wide scope. Through a broad methodological foundation, the students gain competences that they can apply to very different topics and problems. This ensures their study skills even after their time in the troupe for their further professional career.
