In the mathematically particularly challenging degree programmes, future students already receive support in the officer schools and in coordination with the HSU/UniBw H faculties. These preparatory measures are followed by a mentoring programme in the first year of study, in which students in the STEM subjects receive targeted support. The project aims to promote not only subject-specific skills, but also interdisciplinary skills such as the ability to organise oneself, motivation, etc. To this end, first-year students are accompanied on the one hand by older students in their subject (subject-specific tutors) and on the other hand by students of educational science and psychology (methodological tutors). Both the preparatory and the accompanying measures are evaluated in parallel.
