On the yearly occasion of the Girl’s Day the team of the HRM chair, primarily the student team members, regularly conduct (since 2015) a workshop on diversity research. We aim to encourage the girls’ curiosity and interest for the still male-dominated world of science. At the example of HRM research at Helmut Schmidt University/University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg we demonstrate what research all may mean. Our main research topic is diversity at work. In the workshop, the girls learn what this involves and which career options there are in a university. Moreover, the girls may themselves briefly immerse into research. They closely experience how novel things (here: diversity) are studied without white lab coat and test tube
