Motivated by research topics that arise from such applications as geothermal energy, groundwater contamination and remediation, subsurface carbon dioxide storage, and radioactive waste storage, we are interested in describing, understanding, and modelling multiphase flow and transport, geochemical, and microbial processes in porous and fractured media.

01 April 2026: Welcome, Mr Prashant Kashyap, to the chair.. Starting today, Mr Kashyap will be working as a doctoral candidate within the DFG/ANR project: “Optimization of in-situ microbially induced carbonate precipitation in heterogeneous porous media” .

02 March 2026: Welcome, Mr Orkun Üstün, to the chair. Starting today, Mr Üstün will be working as a doctoral candidate within the DFG project: “Assessing underground hydrogen storage with natural gas using numerical simulations“.
