doORlog – workshop for doctoral students in operations research and logistics Logo

The joint doctoral workshop for OR and logistics (doORlog) takes place once a year to provide intensive support for doctoral students from the participating professorships. For three days, doctoral students and supervisors travel together to an inspiring conference venue in northern Germany. There, each student presents not only current research results, but also a detailed project plan for their dissertation.

The workshop is supplemented by bilateral feedback discussions with the supervisors and an attractive supporting programme. This combination of intensive technical discussions, collegial exchange and joint activities creates a trusting working environment that strengthens collaboration and provides new impulses. Through the combination of regular presentations, direct feedback and long-term project planning, the individual progress of the doctoral students is specifically monitored and supported in the long term.

The workshop is embedded in a continuous supervision process: throughout the year, doctoral students regularly present their research in a weekly colloquium – usually at least four times, including once as part of the doORlog workshop. In this way, they continuously receive valuable professional feedback and targeted support for their doctoral project. This ensures structured supervision that promotes both academic excellence and personal development – with the clear aim of providing doctoral students with the best possible support on their path to successfully completing their doctorate.

We look forward to welcoming you to our workshop and shaping the future of research together!
