Sören Schnau, M.Eng.



Profile
Sören Schnau has been working as an external doctoral candidate at the Chair of Data Engineering since 2026. He works as a specialist for the technical conception of the Air and Missile Defense Testbed at the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support. Before that, he spent several years working as an engineer in the field of navigation for seagoing units.
His research focuses on AI-based estimation of key performance parameters for maritime air defense systems. For this purpose, Monte Carlo simulations are used to generate datasets for training. The trained models are used to synthetically generate information that enhances situational awareness in operational deployment.
