Previously, he worked in different roles at the Center for Security Studies at ETH Zurich (CSS) and the Institute for Security Policy at Kiel University (ISPK). At CSS, he focused on the analysis of contemporary war and conflict \u2013 chiefly the war in Ukraine \u2013 and researched doctrine, force development and military technology. He studied Political Science and Strategic Studies in Mannheim, Tartu and at Reading University.
