For this purpose, experimental measurement techniques in wind and water channels as well as numerical flow simulations are used. The latter also involves the development of improved modeling approaches and numerical simulation techniques.<br \/>\n<strong>In particular, interested<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turbulent flows, especially at high Reynolds numbers,<\/li>\n<li>multiphase turbulent flows (particles, drops and bubbles) as well as especially<\/li>\n<li>Multiphysics tasks such as Fluid-structure interaction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The professorship also has a laboratory equipped with modern flow measurement techniques (including <abbr title=\"Laser Doppler Anemometrie\">LDA<\/abbr>, <abbr title=\"Particle Image Velocymetry\">PIV<\/abbr>, CTA, DIC), including a water and wind tunnel. Furthermore, own parallel computing clusters are operated for the development and validation of numerical simulation methods.
