His work has focused on the characterization of cement-based materials, including their mechanical performance, durability, and long-term behavior.<\/p>\n<p>Nemesio joined the group of Construction Materials and Building Preservation at Helmut-Schmidt-University as a Research Assistant in 2026. His current research focuses on the physico-chemical mechanisms governing autogenous self-healing in cracked concrete. In particular, he investigates reactive transport processes and the precipitation of calcium carbonate within cracks under continuous water flow conditions.
