At the beginning of June, load tests to calibrate the monitoring system were carried out as part of the full closure of the A7 between the Heimfeld junction and the Volkspark junction. Both static and dynamic load cases were carried out and the monitoring system was supplemented with tiny motion and laser vibrometer recordings. In addition to calibrating the monitoring system, the results will also be used for the further development of the FE model and further investigation of the external tendons.

The photo shows an opened concrete specimen after it has been exposed to a continuous flow of water for about 2 months as a part of an autogenous self-healing<\/a> test. The specimen was then opened, and the crack surface was sprayed with phenolphthalein indicator. Crack healing occurred through CaCO3 precipitation as can be seen from the non-pink colored areas. Nevertheless, exposed rebars exhibit extensive corrosion, highlighting the issues of cracking in reinforced concrete structures.
