It is a gigantic space in which we search for traces of the past. Our research is characterised by the micro-historical perspectives of everyday, colonial, environmental, technological and political history, and our teaching attempts to explain the foreign and different aspects of Eastern European history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We teach the subject &#8222;History of Eastern Europe and East-Central Europe&#8220; in its entire historical breadth, but our focus is on the history of the Tsarist Empire, the Soviet Union, Poland and Ukraine since the 18th century.
