N.B.: DOSBox is an emulator – it is slow. DOSEmu under Linux is more than 10 times
\nfaster.<\/p>\n
When in Win-32, open Command interpreter.<\/p>\n
Use PKZIP, UNZIP or alike to unzip the win_v_32.zip archive.<\/p>\n
Make sure, directory structure is preserved (if necessary, use -d parameter).<\/p>\n
Make sure, all the files end up in C:viewfind. If necessary, copy files manually:
\nmkdir c:viewfind
\nxcopy c:tmpwhatever c:viewfind<\/p>\n
Copy .lnk files to YOUR OWN Desktop directory (manually):<\/p>\n
cd C:UsersMy_own_user_name (or whatever your username is)
\nc:
\ncd Desktop
\nxcopy c:viewfinddesktop*.*<\/p>\n
Make sure, all your TLG, PHI 5, PHI 7 and whatever text files
\nare copied to separate directories under C:beta. If necessary, either copy
\nthem appropriately or adjust c:viewfindprofile.v&f<\/p>\n
If everything goes well, you are done and the View and Find Icons show up
\non the screen.<\/p>\n
Have fun, view and find Greek and Latin texts.<\/p>\n
You will find a copy of the WIN32 betautf8.exe program enclosed which
\nis useful to convert V&F output to something meaningful to the OpenOffice
\nword processor and similar products.<\/p>\n
In the doc sub directory, there is ample documentation. Read v&fdoc.pdf
\nfirst. If you run into problems, don’t ask me – ask your colleagues; they
\ncan help you as little as I.<\/p>\n
We recommend you use SPITRUN.EXE V&F.SPX under DOSBox, because this
\nVCPI version of the program runs in a more secure manner in DOSBox –
\nneither is DOSBox good at emulating a DPMI server, nor does it allow for
\none to be loaded separately (CWSDPI.EXE).
\nNewer versions of DOSBox are happy if hdpm32.exe is loaded before the program:<\/p>\n

instead of the VCPI version („spitrun.exe v&f.spx \/S“)<\/p>\n
