Mitglieder des Clusters publizieren ihre Forschungsergebnisse erfolgreich. Der Cluster erm\u00f6glicht ferner eine erleichterte Kooperation mit anderen Einrichtungen. So besteht eine enge Beziehung mit der Medical School Hamburg. Gemeinsame wissenschaftliche Publikationen in renommierten Fachorganen und gemeinsame Forschungsf\u00f6rderung zeugen davon. Der Cluster richtet sich damit an alle Forscherinnen und Forscher, die sich dem Informationsverarbeitungsansatz beim Beschreiben, Erkl\u00e4ren und Vorhersagen von Erleben und Verhalten in Forschung und Anwendung verpflichtet f\u00fchlen. So geh\u00f6ren beispielsweise sozial kognitive Determinanten des Erlebens und Verhaltens in Organisationen mit Blick auf F\u00fchrung, Mitarbeiterbindung (Commitment) und Gesundheit zum Forschungsgegenstand. Ohne eine fundierte interdisziplin\u00e4re Zusammenarbeit lassen sich viele Forschungsfragen nicht fundiert angehen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cognitive science refers to the study of mental information processing, including areas commonly referred to as perception, attention, learning, memory, thinking, and language. In general terms, cognitive science aims at an understanding of the functional architecture of the mind by identifying (representational) structures and (computational) operations as well as their neural implementations. As a multidisciplinary approach, cognitive science is based on contributions from various fields, such as computer science, psychology, biology, linguistics, engineering, and philosophy and includes various levels of analysis, ranging from conceptual to neurophysiological examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The units of study range from basic processes, such as sensory encoding or forming simple associations, to high-level functions of decision making or coordination and monitoring of mental activity to achieve coherent, goal-directed behavior in dynamically changing environments.
