The research group „Effective Risk Communication“ (ERika) is a joint project of Helmut-Schmidt-University Hamburg (HSU<\/abbr>) and the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ERika research group consists of scientists from the HSU<\/abbr> and the BfR. It contributes to the scientific foundation of risk communication and thus increases its effectiveness. Within three years, the research group investigates the specific topic „The Cost of a Crisis \u2013 Analyzing the Significance of Non-Events in Health-Related Consumer Protection“ from an economic and psychological perspective using a theory-based empirical-experimental mix of methods. In the context of non-events, risk communication measures aim to have a preventive effect, to prevent crises and accordingly to protect the health of the target groups. The project will also investigate whether and how cost-benefit trade-offs can be used in communication with various stakeholders and for reputation management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
