A focus lies on the integration of energy converters and the resulting topics \u201cgrid identification\u201d and \u201cfuture grid operation with decentralized power generation\u201d. These issues are part of the interdisciplinary research cluster \u201cSustainable Power Supply\u201d, in which the chair of Electrical Power Systems is significantly involved. There are numerous research projects in the field of grid impedance measurement on low-voltage, medium-voltage and high-voltage level as well as in the integration of energy storage in power grids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:22px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><em>&#8230; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hsu-hh.de\/ees\/en\/research-projects-2\">interested in research<\/a> ?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Another joined interdisciplinary research cluster at Helmut Schmidt University&nbsp;is \u201cAeronautics Research\u201d. Topics with the subject sustainability, which the chair of Electrical Power Systems deals with in this cluster,&nbsp;are developments for future onboard grids of aircraft, including the integration of fuel cells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scientific spectrum of the professorship includes measurements with corresponding simulations as well as the development of new simulation tools for special operating cases in power grids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.awhamburg.de\/en\" target=\"_blank\">Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg<\/a> elected <abbr title=\"Professor\">Prof.<\/abbr> Schulz in 2011 as a Full member. His task is to strengthen the focus of the Academy in the field of energy research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2019 he is a spokesman of the working group &#8222;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.awhamburg.de\/en\/research\/working-groups\/hydrogen-for-the-north-german-energy-system.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hydrogen for the North German Energy System<\/a>&#8222;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">dtec.bw\u00ae \u2013 Centre for Digitilisation and Technology Research of the Federal Armed Forces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the broader frame of the Centre for Digitilisation and Technology Research of the Federal Armed Forces of Germany (\u201cZentrum f\u00fcr Digitalisierungs- und Technologieforschung der Bundeswehr\u201d) \u2013 \u201cdtec.bw\u201d \u2013 the group for Electrical Power Systems is involved in the four projects <strong>EMob<\/strong>, <strong>CoupleIT!<\/strong>, <strong>DNeD<\/strong> und <strong>RISK.twin<\/strong>.
