Hybrid Threats \u2013 Protection and Enhanced Resilience of Critical Infrastructure<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Helmut Schmidt University \/ University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg (HSU<\/abbr>\/UniBw H) welcomed, for the first time, fifteen international EMILYO cadets from seven European countries to a one-week Common Module in the framework of the European Initiative for the Exchange of Military Young Officers<\/a> (EMILYO \/ Military Erasmus). With this, HSU<\/abbr>\/UniBw H marks an important milestone in international military education and European networking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n For this pilot project, HSU<\/abbr>\/UniBw H developed its own Common Module worth 2 ECTS under the title \u201cHybrid Threats \u2013 Protection and Enhanced Resilience of Critical Infrastructure.\u201d The academic lead was Dr.<\/abbr>–Ing.<\/abbr> Lars Ole Fichte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The organisation and coordination of the EMILYO project were carried out by the International Office of HSU<\/abbr>\/UniBw H under the leadership of Linda Wei\u00df, who, together with her team, played a key role in preparing and enabling the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The module began with an official opening by Colonel Roman Lau (Head of the Student Affairs Division) and Prof.<\/abbr> Dr.<\/abbr> Christina Schaefer (Vice President International Affairs). From the outset, it became clear what EMILYO stands for: joint academic learning, European exchange, and the promotion of interoperability among future officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The academic programme was complemented by joint activities that encouraged exchange beyond the lecture hall. These included, among others, a harbor tour through the Port of Hamburg, an international swimming competition and a joint barbecue evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first EMILYO Common Module at HSU<\/abbr>\/UniBw H demonstrates how European military education is increasingly growing together through joint academic modules\u2014academically sound, international, and practice-oriented. Starting in July 2027, it is planned to offer the EMILYO format annually at Helmut Schmidt University \/ University of the Federal Armed Forces Hamburg and to establish it as a permanent component of international teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n
