Im Rahmen des Stipendienprogramms der International Friendship Foundation (IFF) in Phoenix\/Arizona ist es Frau <abbr title=\"Professor\">Prof.<\/abbr> <abbr title=\"Doktor\">Dr.<\/abbr> Carola Groppe, Fakult\u00e4t f\u00fcr Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften, gelungen, exklusiv f\u00fcr die <abbr title=\"Helmut-Schmidt-Universit\u00e4t\">HSU<\/abbr>\/ <abbr title=\"Universit\u00e4t der Bundeswehr Hamburg\">UniBwH<\/abbr> einen Stipendienplatz an der Arizona State University zu gewinnen. Das Stipendium richtet sich an die <strong>Studierenden des aktuellen Jahrgangs 2024 (Bachelorstudieng\u00e4nge) aller Studieng\u00e4nge <\/strong>(exkl. Finanziert wurde sie aus Spenden und Veranstaltungserl\u00f6sen deutscher und amerikanischer Piloten. Seit 1997 finanziert die IFF auch einen Studierendenaustausch zwischen der Arizona State University (ASU) und Deutschland. Seither geht regelm\u00e4\u00dfig eine deutsche Studentin oder ein deutscher Student mit einem Stipendium an die ASU, im Gegenzug kommt ein Student oder eine Studentin der ASU an eine deutsche Universit\u00e4t.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Die IFF dient auch dem Andenken an die Erfolgsgeschichte der deutsch\/amerikanischen Pilotenausbildung an der Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. Tr\u00e4gerin des Stipendiums in Deutschland ist die Vereinigung der ehemaligen Starfighter Piloten, die Cactus Starfighter Staffel (CSS), als deutscher Part der International Friendship Foundation.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Zwischen 1964 und 1983 wurden auf der Luke Air Force Base in der N\u00e4he von Phoenix (USA) 1.868 deutsche Piloten im Rahmen des F-104 Ausbildungsprogrammes geschult. Zu den Absolventen geh\u00f6rte auch Olt J\u00fcrgen Schumann, der Jahre sp\u00e4ter als Kapit\u00e4n des nach Mogadischu entf\u00fchrten Lufthansa-Jets &#8222;Landshut&#8220; get\u00f6tet wurde (<a href=\"https:\/\/cactus-starfighter-staffel.de\/#:~:text=in%20der%20CACTUS%20STARFIGHTER%20STAFFEL:%2025%20Jahre%20Studentenaustausch(PDF)\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/cactus-starfighter-staffel.de\/#:~:text=in%20der%20CACTUS%20STARFIGHTER%20STAFFEL:%2025%20Jahre%20Studentenaustausch(PDF)\" rel='nofollow'><abbr title=\"vergleiche\">vgl.<\/abbr> Seite der CSS<\/a>). Das durch die IFF und die CSS seit 1997 bereit gestellte Stipendium ist Teil dieser gemeinsamen Geschichte. Dieses Jahr stellt die Cactus-Starfighter-Staffel als deutscher Vertreter der International Friendship Foundation einen Platz in ihrem Stipendium f\u00fcr Studierende der <abbr title=\"Helmut-Schmidt-Universit\u00e4t\">HSU<\/abbr>\/UniBw H zur Verf\u00fcgung.
