Forschungsschwerpunkte

Die Wirtschaftsinformatik befasst sich mit soziotechnischen Informationssystemen und entsprechenden Informationsverarbeitungsaufgaben in Wirtschaft und Verwaltung. Hierunter nehmen Planungsaufgaben hinsichtlich der Lenkung und Abstimmung des betrieblichen bzw. unternehmensübergreifenden Geschehens einen großen Anteil ein. Dabei sind sowohl personelle als auch maschinelle (informationstechnische) Aufgabenträger involviert und folglich kann eine Erfüllung entsprechender Aufgaben gar nicht, teilweise oder vollständig automatisiert erfolgen. Aus einer entscheidungsorientierten Sichtweise ist für die Wirtschaftsinformatik die (Teil )Automatisierung der Erfüllung von Planungs- und Koordinationsaufgaben im Rahmen softwaretechnischer Systeme von großer Relevanz. In den Forschungsgebieten der Professur werden aus dieser Perspektive Potenziale wie auch Barrieren für die Automatisierung von Geschäftsprozessen betrachtet. Darüber hinaus wird die Nutzung innovativer Softwaretechnik und webbasierter Interoperabilitätsstandards zur Gestaltung von Anwendungssystemen untersucht.
